The word “Bud” is a verb and it means to “sprout”, or to “germinate” or to “grow”.
Budding is a culture of the Kingdom of God. It is a symbol of the Vine and the fruitful branch, and that’s why Aaron’s rod that budded was kept in the earthly tabernacle.
In our salvation journey, a question every believer of Jesus must ask is, “Am I budding”?
Before budding can occur, there has to be a garden, and tree based on what the Scripture says in John 15: 1, I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
This introduces the concept of pruning of the Lord. As Prune Juice is used to expel wastes that hide behind the excuse of constipation, to leave our bodies. A constipated life is a life clogged with waste. For those who have suffered constipation, they know that an active lifestyle and drinking more water will reduce their chances of constipation. For those who have experienced chronic constipation, When constipation does not cease, uneasiness occur which sometimes cause people to seek treatment which involves medication. This is the similitude of a life that refuses the running of the Lord.
The Fruitful Branch
A fruitful branch is a blessed life. It is a life that is refreshing. The Lord wants us to be fruitful, and He said, “this is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourself to be my disciples” - John 15:7.As disciples of Jesus, It is the delight of our Father that we become fruitful.
How does one attain a fruitfulness? A life must be connected deeper to the source of the Living Water to be fruitful. A life must be plugged into Jesus. A fruitful branch talks about a life that has been laid before the Lord. You must remain in Jesus “And Moses placed the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness. Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the Tabernacle of a witness, and behold the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossom sand yield ripe almonds” Numbers 17
The fruitful branch is pruned. Believers often ask, why do I go through all these troubles despite the fact that I serve God. Jesus provides an answer in John 15:2: He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will even be more fruitful. An unfruitful branch does not need pruning. that explains the words of the Prophet in Jeremiah 8:20 - “The harvest is past, The summer is ended, And we are not saved”. For as many as are left unpruned, no fruitfulness is expected.
Pruning is a constant part of Christian life. Pruning of God resizing and reshaping us to fit into His image. The pruning process takes away the filth and toxins that stands in our way of growth beyond Salvation. As a Gardner takes away the weed from the plants, so does the Lord takes away impurities from our lives to make us fit for the harvest of His kingdom.
In extreme cases, situations can be liked to that of a weed when people have been planted in the wrong places. In such situations, the Lord makes situations like Jeremiah 1:10 to surface in their lives. When we are planted in the wrong foundations, the Lord’s mercy and kindness take us through a season of digging and uproot the faulty foundation in order to replant and rebuild “ For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree” Romans 11:17
Pruning is part of the believer's journey
Pruning cuts away things that are not of God
Fruitfulness is an inheritance of the Kingdom of God
Embrace the pruning of the Lord, for in there lies the key to your fruitness
